COVID-19 Staff Update

Further to the UBC Bulletin of March 16, 2020, I would like to inform you of the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit (BCIRPU) measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, to inform you that Unit faculty, research staff, fellows, and student employees will be working remotely until April 6, 2020.

As UBC and PHSA continue to navigate the response to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and in support of social distancing protocols, BCIRPU is aligning with the three-week pilot of Remote Work Arrangements instituted by UBC. The duration of the pilot will be reassessed based on new information about COVID-19 that would change the situation.

Starting this week, BCIRPU faculty, research staff, fellows, and student employees, will work from home. As much as we have made every effort to facilitate continuity of work while Unit staff work from home, there may be some delays in communications and ongoing projects. We will make every effort to ensure that our commitments to timelines and deliverables proceed as agreed, and request your understanding as we accommodate new ways of working.
On behalf of the BCIRPU team, I would like to thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate this unusual situation.

Dr. Ian Pike, Director, BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit
