National Injury Prevention Day
Injury prevention is critical to saving lives and reducing disability. Unintentional injury is the No. 1 cause of death for all Canadians ages 1 to 34.
On July 5, 2021 the BCIRPU will be celebrating the 5th National Injury Prevention Day. This day is important to us at BCIRPU, because year-round we work to reduce the impact that preventable injuries have on individuals, families and communities in BC. The goal of National Injury Prevention Day is to raise awareness on the prevention of serious injuries on the road, at home, and at play, and to provide the necessary information to reduce injury and disability while enjoying full and vibrant lives.
We encourage you to share and amplify the celebration of National Injury Prevention Day on social media with the hashtags #TurnSafetyOn and #ParachuteNIPD.
Municipalities across Canada are lighting up their landmarks green in honour of the initiative.
