Aboriginal Community-Level Predictors of Injury-Related Hospitalizations in British Columbia, Canada

Using an ecological approach, we analyzed linked data from British Columbia’s (BC) universal health care insurance plan, worker compensation, vital statistics, and census databases to identify community-level risk markers for hospitalization due to injury among the Aboriginal population of BC.

Our project describes variability among injury categories, time periods, and geographic, demographic, and socioeconomic groups. This report focuses on unintentional falls.

Construct validity and impact of mode of administration of the PedsQL™ among a pediatric injury population

The purpose of this study was to determine the construct validity of the PedsQL™ health related quality of life (HRQoL) instrument for use among injured children and to examine the impact of using different modes of administration, including paper and pencil, online and telephone.
