Brain Waves is a free, informative, and fun neuroscience workshop that includes hands-on activities for students in grades 4 to 6. BCIRPU is the provincial delivery partner for Brain Waves and the training site for volunteers in BC.
This program is designed to align with the themes of basic anatomy and functions of the brain, nervous system, and spinal cord that are built within the BC school curriculum. The program was created by Parachute, Canada’s national injury prevention organization.
Each Brain Waves workshop is 1.5 hours long and is hosted in the classroom by 2 to 3 team members. Key highlights of the program include information on:
Presentations will take place at schools in person in January and April 2026 in Vancouver, Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, and Hope.
