injury priorities

BCIRPU conducts research, surveillance, and knowledge translation activities in a number of areas related to injury prevention—at home, at work, at play, and on the road.

BC Priorities for Injury Prevention

The BC Injury Prevention Committee, for whom BCIRPU serves as secretariat, has identified three provincial priorities for injury prevention:

The prioritization process was the result of a collaboration between the BC Injury Prevention Committee, all BC regional health authorities, Trauma Services BC, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit, BC Falls and Injury Prevention Coalition, and BC Ministry of Health.

For more information about the prioritization process, read the report on the BCCDC website.
